How much will it cost to get to Switzerland?
A Swiss tourist who has been in the country for more than two months said she would need to pay at least $15,000 to get around, but the cost will only get higher.
Swiss tourist Laura Vignola said she was visiting the country with her husband to celebrate her birthday, but it would only cost her about $10,000.
“We have a flat in the capital, Zurich, so we will need to rent a room, but we have no idea how much it will cost,” Vignolla said.
She said she planned to take the cheapest flight from Zurich to Geneva, and then drive to Switzerland from Geneva.
A tourist who also wanted to remain anonymous said the cheapest ticket was about $20,000 a person.
Vignola’s husband, Daniel Vignoli, said she had to pay around $7,000 in taxes, which is about the same as a car trip.
He said the government should be paying for people to leave their homes in Switzerland, and it could cost them thousands of dollars if they stay for more time.
“I would like to see it as a no-cost destination, a tourist destination for people who want to get away from their families and their friends,” he said.
Vignoli said he had no plans to return to the country, but would pay $6,000 for a one-way ticket from Zurich, where he is based.
The government has already announced it will offer free travel to anyone who stays for more 20 days, although the number of people who can get around in Switzerland for free will increase.
There are about 4.2 million foreigners in Switzerland.
Some have said the country’s government should have been more transparent about the costs of their stay, such as how much their stay will cost.
“This was an absolute waste of money and should have paid for itself.
We will have to go to the Swiss people and tell them, ‘Look, I have been in Switzerland longer than you have been here, so you are entitled to me for the rest of my life’,” said Daniel Varnoli.
